XXL is reporting that the Cobb County District Attorney, Mike Petchenick, may finally be charging Young Thug and Birdman for the 2015 murder attempt on Lil Wayne.
In case you missed how this all started: Wayne’s tour bus was shot up while he was on tour, and shortly after, Thug’s manager, PeeWee Roscoe was arrested for the shooting. Roscoe was sentenced to 10 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to six of the 27 counts. However, two months after his sentencing, he appealed his sentence, claiming he was pressured or coerced into a guilty plea.
Roscoe’s conviction got overturned, but he is now being sued, alongside Young Thug and Birdman, by the driver of the tour bus who alleges that they conspired in the shooting. In court documents filed by the driver’s lawyer, Jeff Gewirtz, phone records show that Thugger called Roscoe eight times in 12 minutes leading up to the shooting.
XXL adds that the attorney also obtained a prison phone call between Birdman and Roscoe, where Birdman could be heard saying, “Time for you to come out here and get your money. You did everything you could do boss … it’s eye-opening. (It’s) strictly business, man.”
However, Roscoe’s lawyer, Manny Arora, has dismissed the lawsuit as “a money grab,” while District Attorney’s office has noted that will decide in the “next few weeks” if they will charge Thugger and Birdman for the shooting.
We can’t wait to see how it pans out.
