English club Wolves will launch its new-look official matchday programme today for the visit of Villarreal CF, and on the cover is recently retired Nigerian international Carl Ikeme.
The first official matchday programme of the season will be available to purchase for just £3, with tributes to Ikeme who announced his retirement from the game last week after battling with cancer.
Ikeme, 32, was expertly depicted on the cover in a painting by Wolves supporting artist Louise Cobbold.
The 100-page edition features special Ikeme tributes, a look at the club’s history and a thorough breakdown of the latest signings at Molineux.
As well as the 100 pages, the matchday programme will include a 16-page children’s edition inside which can be torn out of the main programme.
Inside the children’s edition is a Morgan Gibbs-White poster, plenty of activities and content for the youngsters’ entertainment.
This comes after the Nigeria Football Federation announced plans to absorb Ikeme into the coaching crew of the Super Eagles on completion of a training course.
The England-born shot-stopper made 10 appearances for the eagles following his debut in 2015, and he was honoured as Nigeria’s 24th man for the 2018 World Cup.
