The Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris commanded the headlines recently after a video of him struggling to read his own speech went viral.
In the viral video, IGP Idris, who visited Kano State to commission the Police Technical Intelligence unit, stuttered repeatedly he struggled to pronounce his words.
After several failed attempts to get his speech right, the IGP apologised to his stunned audience.
Watch the clip below.
In a swift reaction to the unflattering clip, the Senior Special Adviser to the President on Diaspora & Foreign Affairs, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, said the video was doctored by mischievous persons.
Dabiri-Erewa, still in the public consciousness after her role in the scandalous Martin Luther King Award for President Muhamadu Buhari, wrote on Twitter: “This video is definitely doctored. The error was made once, then special effects used to repeat it. What I don’t understand is why anyone would believe. Well, it’s a Social Media world.”
While the weakness of her defence was laid bare after the full clip of the speech emerged, the IG has insisted he’s the victim of internet manipulators.
Nigerians however are not buying it, and they have since taken to social media to rip the errant IG to shreds.
Warning! Some of the tweets are merciless…
“Spiritual attack” blamed for IGP Ibrahim Kpotum Idris’ TRANSMISSION blunder in Kano. If the IGP cannot protect us from ‘spiritual attack’, is it physical attack he can protect us from? pic.twitter.com/IUaBGn4TED

How did #Nigeria get to this sorry state?
So Buhari did not see any other Police Officer in Nigeria worthy of the position of the IGP but this Idris of a man that ought not to have gone beyond the rank of Constable?

LOST IN TRANSMISSION
So I tried to hold back myself from mocking IGP Idris on the remote chance that he's actually dyslexic.
But my people
How do you explain this?
Mumu or Ogogoro or Codeine must be involved in this.

Most people say "I couldn't go far" in watching the IGP Idris viral "TRANSMISSION" video.
It means Nigerians can easily detect/deduce daftness/ineptitude.
So, how did Nigerians allow Buhari – a lounger and tyrant slip under the radar in 2015?#NEVERAGAIN
