Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr on Thursday lost his mother, Madam Elisabeth Rohr.
She passed away at the age of 97.
The news comes bare 48 hours after Rohr guided the senior national team to a thrilling 2-2 draw against Ukraine in Tuesday’s international friendly game at the Dnipro Arena.
Confirming the news, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), wrote on its Twitter handle @Thenff: “We commiserate with @NGSuperEagles Head coach, Mr. Gernot Rohr who just lost his mother Madam Elisabeth Rohr. She was 97. May her soul rest in peace.”
Rohr has been at the helm of the Nigeria national team since 2016, leading the side to the 2018 World Cup and clinching bronze at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
