The Super Eagles of Nigeria rounded up their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, Afcon, qualifying campaign with a home 3-1 win over Seychelles in Asaba on Friday evening.
Leading scorer in the qualifiers, Odion Ighalo, opened the scoring from the penalty spot with his seventh goal in the series to give the Eagles the lead after a nervy opening half-hour.
Seychelles however drew level minutes before half-time after a dreadful blunder from goalkeeper Francis Uzoho allowed Roddy Melanie to fire into an empty net.
Galatasaray forward Henry Onyekuru restored the hosts’ lead six after the restart with a beautiful header.
And in stoppage time, substitute Moses Simon added the last goal almost immediately he came in for the injured Ighalo.
The Levante winger evaded a challenge before firing in low at the near post to make the scoreline more respectable.
Next up for the Super Eagles is a prestige International friendly against Egypt on Wednesday, 27th March at the same venue.
