Amir the eldest son of Sa’ad Abubakar III, the Sultan of Sokoto, has been hospitalised after being involved in a car crash.
Sources say Amir was reportedly driving at a high speed of over 200km/hr within Sokoto Airport Road, in an area called Bado, when the accident happened on Sunday.
The Sultan’s son was in the company of Khalifa Maccido, son of Aliyu Macciddo, and a girl he reportedly picked from Kaduna to have fun with, SaharaReporters writes.
He was taken to the Usman Danfodio Teaching Hospital, where he has been unconscious.
It was also gathered that Amir had been drunk while driving and a bottle of Benelyn Codeine syrup was found in the car.
After the incident, officials of the Sultanate Council allegedly removed the Sultanate council plate number from the car so as not to expose the Sultanate Council.
