Suge Knight Pleads No Contest to Manslaughter, Agrees to 28-Year Sentence

Yesterday, former rap mogul Marion “Suge” Knight pleaded no contest to voluntary manslaughter for running over and killing a Compton man nearly four years ago.

Recall that Knight had pleaded not guilty after being charged for running over two people at a burger joint in 2015, killing one of them. The deceased was identified as Terry Carter.

Knight claimed he acted in self-defence.

The case had been lingering for more than three years, and in January, Knight’s former attorneys, Matthew Fletcher and Thaddeus Culpepper were arrested for trying to bribe witness in the murder case.

In early April, Knight was hospitalised for an undisclosed reason in early April, and later his family clarified it was for an issue with his left eye.

Now, he has pleaded no contest, and Billboard is reporting that he has agreed to serve 28 years in prison. The plea came days before jury selection was scheduled to begin in the long-delayed case.

We can’t wait to see how this pans out.
