Ryan Coogler is set to dazzle the world again with the sequel of the hit superhero film, Black Panther.
According to Variety, the director-writer is on board to write and direct the sequel and Chadwick Boseman is expected to return to play the superhero.
Recall that Black Panther took the world by storm last weekend and raked in a whopping $242 million in its opening weekend alone, breaking the record for the biggest “standalone superhero launch of all time.” And then it eventually blew away box office records by raking in $1.3 billion worldwide, including $700 million domestically — the biggest U.S. box office gross for any Marvel film.
It is unclear when the sequel will be released, but Variety adds that production is expected to start at the end of next year or early 2020, depending on when the script is ready.
We can’t wait!
