Runtown has finally spoken up after a video surfaced in which an American woman accused him of fraud.
From the video making rounds on social media, the woman claimed the singer and his manager-brother diverted the $128, 000 she gave them to transfer to her fiance for a purchase in Kenya. The woman claimed she had tried to serve the singer and his brother papers, had complained to the EFCC, but nothing had been done.
She called on the Nigerian government to intervene and help her get her money back.

Runtown, who has been embroiled in a bitter feud with his former label Eric Many, says this is yet another attempt to ruin his name.
The singer, through his new record label, says they have filed a complaint with appropriate authorities and that preliminary investigations reveal that the woman got duped by people posing as the singer.

Our attention has been drawn to reports circulating on social media by a US based woman named, Shawn Rene accusing our artist, Runtown of fraud.
It’s all lies and and an attempt to blackmail and tarnish our image. We have contacted the Nigerian security agencies including the DSS and EFCC who are all on the matter at the moment and preliminary investigations already reveals that its a group of impostors who may have duped ‘Sawhn Rene’ using Runtown’s name.
Runtown has never and will never defraud anyone.
