Juelz Santana has admitted to taking a loaded firearm to a New Jersey airport earlier this year, and now faces up to 20 years in prison.
Recall that in March, the rapper surrendered to the police after fleeing from Newark International Airport Friday when Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents found a gun and oxycodone pills inside his carry-on during a security screening. He was hoping to breeze through the checkpoint when the screener saw the firearm in the x-ray tunnel. When he realized what was up, he eluded security agents and left the scene by hopping into a taxicab,, and didn’t turn himself in until three days later.
Now, Complex reports that during a federal court appearance on Thursday, the 36-year-old rapper whose real name is LaRon Louis James pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon as well as carrying a weapon on an aircraft.
Santana could serve up to 10 years in prison for each charge. His sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 12.
