Yesterday, President Muhammadu Buhari broke the Ramadan fast, Iftar, with some Nigerian influential youths at the Stae House in Abuja.
Some of those who were in attendance include Big Brother Naija star Tobi Bakre, singers Sound Sultan and Small Doctor, filmmaker Kunle Afolayan and model Tania Omotayo.
This comes a day after the president declared June 12 as the new Democracy Day, and also conferred a posthumous GCFR title on the presumed winner of June 12, 1993, presidential election, Moshood Abiola.
Those decisions stirred heated reactions on social media, with many people suspicious of the intent behind them. And while Nigerians are still criticising the president, he chose to break the fast with influential youths.
