Dolapo Badmus caught a lot of flak yesterday after she took to her Instagram to justify the brutal killings of members of the Shia Muslim sect.
Recall that the sect has been demanding the release of their leader Ibraheem Zakzaky who has been in custody for 34 months. Last week, Amnesty International confirmed that 45 protesters were killed after they threw stones at authorities who had come to disperse the protest.
Reacting to the killings, the official Twitter of The Nigerian army cited a video of US President Donald Trump in which he says soldiers should respond with force to migrants throwing stones, to justify opening fire on the Shia group.
“When they throw rocks… consider it as a rifle,” Mr Trump said in the clip.
The video was deleted after it stirred global outrage.
And while the conversation of the brutal killings is ongoing, Dolapo Badmus took to her Instagram to share a post in which she is seen posing with her colleagues. “If you throw stone expect a bullet!” she wrote.
And this triggered intense conversation, with many people calling out her callousness.
Seeing the criticisms she was getting, the police PPRO quickly edited the post to include a “?” so it would seem like she was only asking a question. And then she went forward to also insult those who called out the sneaky edit.
