Pete Davidson wants you all to know that Ariana Grande has won his heart forever.
Yesterday, the 24-year-old comedian gifted his fiancée his necklace bearing a gold pendant in the shape of a FDNY badge with his late dad’s number, 8418.
Recall that his father, Scott Davidson, was a New York fighter who died in the September 11 terrorist attacks in the United States. The pendant is known to be a precious souvenir Pete holds close in memory of his father, and now he has given it to the woman he is going to marry.
As expected, this triggered mixed reactions on his Instagram, with some trolls questioning the rationale behind such decision. “No girl should ever wear your dad’s chain,” one person commented. “So disrespectful.”
Well, Pete shut it down real quick.
“For ur information that’s not just some girl, that’s my fiancé,” he replied. “She’s the greatest person I know. I gave it to her because she has my heart and that is the most precious thing I own. My dad would be so happy and love her so much.”
Grande also commented on Davidson’s photo, writing, “I love u more than anything.”
See the pendant.
And the reactions.
