Billionaire businessman Femi Otedola has donated the faculty of engineering to Augustine University (AUI) Epe, Lagos.
On Tuesday, Otedola, an indigene of Epe, attended the foundation laying ceremony of the faculty said to be worth N2bn.
Present at the ceremony was Rt. Rev Alfred Martins, the proprietor of the institution and Catholic archbishop of Lagos.
Augustine University is a private Catholic-owned tertiary institution located in Ilara, a town in Epe.
It was approved on February 25, 2015. AUI offers courses at undergraduate and post graduate levels.
The donation comes as Otedola makes more forays into the public life in Lagos. He set tongues wagging by riding in a Molue earlier this year, and Nigerian media was later awash with reports that he’d accepted to be the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party.
But the Forte Oil boss recently endorsed Babajide Sanwo-Olu, candidate of the All Progressives Congress, to take over at Alausa.
