One person is said to have been killed in a protest around Nkpolu junction along the East-West road in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
Several others reportedly sustained various degrees of injuries from the incident which occurred late Monday when some residents of the community took to the streets to protest the bad condition of a portion of the expressway, barricading it and causing a gridlock.
In a bid to control the commotion, some security agents reportedly clashed with the protesting youths, resulting in the killing.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command however said no one was killed.
