Cardi B and her husband Offset have been slammed with yet another lawsuit.
According to legal documents obtained by The Wrap, the Migos member and his wife were sued by The Mark Hotel following the incident at the hotel, when their security allegedly assaulted a fan named Giovanni Arnold who approached them for an autograph.
Recall that the incident occurred as Cardi and Offset were leaving the Met Gala afterparty on May 8, and the man, Giovanni Arnold, approached them, requesting for autographs several times. Cardi allegedly told him to, “Fuck outta here, nigga. I will slap the shit out of you,” and Offset reportedly added, “Shut up, bro, before a nigga beat you out here.”
Arnold claimed three unidentified men “savagely beat him, punching him and then stomping on his face while he was on the ground,” before they fled the scene.
Shortly after that alleged incident, Arnold sued them for assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. He also included the hotel and their three unidentified bodyguards in the suit.
Now, the hotel where the altercation happened is also suing the hip-hop couple, saying that they should not be held liable for whatever comes out the case.
Here’s what their lawsuit says:
“In the event that Defendant Mark Hotel LLC (Mark Hotel) is held liable for all or any part of the damages alleged to have been sustained by Plaintiff, as set forth in the Complaint, or any cross-claims, which liability is expressly denied, such liability will have been brought about and caused solely as a result of the fault, negligence, acts or omissions, want of care and/or breach of contract on the part of Belcalis Almanzar p/k/a Cardi B, Kiari Kendrell Cephus p/k/a Offset and Quality Control Management LLC, without any fault, negligence or want of care on the part of Mark Hotel.”
