Nollywood Star, Emeka Ike, Joins House of Reps Race

Nollywood star Emeka Ike, has joined the growing list of entertainers delving into politics after he announced his intention to run in 2019 general elections.

The My Last Wedding actor announced his intention to contest for House of Representatives seat in Ideato South LGA of Imo State on his Instagram Page over the weekend.

Ike, remembered for winning the Celebrity Gulder Ultimate Search when it debuted in 2010, will vie for the seat on the platform of the Young Progressive Party (YPP).

The 51-year-old thespian took to his Instagram page to make the announcement, saying: “YPP… the people friendly party… New blood… fresh breath… less clumsy…He accompanied his write up with a signboard of YPP and his posters. 

In another post, he said: “YPP is changing the grassroot narative… youths… it’s our time let’s go”.
