The Super Eagles of Nigeria have dropped one place to 49th on the latest Fifa World Ranking released Thursday.
In the first ranking released since the 2018 World Cup, the Eagles are tied for 49th with Russia after their memorable run to the last eight as hosts of the Mundial.
Nigeria exited the quadrennial event at the group stage, losing to Croatia and Argentina, and securing a solitary victory against Iceland.
The Eagles are now ranked seventh on the continent, behind Tunisia, Senegal, Congo DR, Ghana, Morocco and Cameroon.
Reigning world champions France are now the top ranked team on the planet after moving up six places, while beaten finalists Croatia are fourth, jumping a massive 16 places.
Germany, who got knocked out in the group stage of the title defence, drop 14 places to 15th , while five-time world champions Brazil are ranked third, one spot behind Belgium.
