Neymar and his team are still confident that a deal can be secured for him to leave Pari Saint-Germain and return to Barcelona.
The Brazil superstar is desperate to leave PSG this summer and return to Barcelona, two years on from his world-record departure from the Camp Nou.
The Brazilian forward has seen his two years in Paris plagued by injuries, limiting him to just 37 league appearances in two seasons.
Despite having won Ligue 1 two years in a row, Neymar has been unable to help PSG achieve their ultimate goal – winning the Champions League.
Reports in French media claim PSG have set their asking price at £160m, but Barca are yet to offer anywhere near that.
The Catalan giants are keen to ensure that any deal for the star involves players going the opposite way, and reportedly sent a list of six players for PSG to choose from.
Over the weekend, Barca vice-chairman Jordi Cardoner claimed that a deal would not be done this summer, but suggested they could move for him at a later date.
He claimed: “There is a lot of respect between the clubs and if there is a Neymar case one day, we’ll talk.
“Today, at this time, it’s ruled out.”
But journalist Julien Laurens believes Neymar and his camp are still confident that the two sides will come to an agreement.
The Spanish transfer window closes on September 2, meaning there is just less than a month left for the two clubs to seal a deal.
“This Neymar thing will rumble on until the end of August and into September because Neymar really wants to play for Barca,” Laurens said on ESPN FC.
“PSG really want him to go, to leave as well, because he doesn’t want to be there.
“In Barcelona they have to somehow find a way to make a decent offer to get Neymar back, if that is what they really want, and I believe it is.
“At the moment Neymar – who trained today with his PSG team-mates and Thomas Tuchel and looked happy – and his entourage are very confident that a deal can happen with Barcelona.”
