NAF Jet Crash: Air Force Says Injured Officers Recuperating

The two Air Force officers who were injured in the crash which occurred in Abuja, on Friday, are recovering very well, Director, Public Relations and Information, Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola has said.

Cmdr. Daramola said the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar visited the officers and that he was impressed by the level of progress, whereupon he charged the medical team to do their best and get the personnel back on their feet.

He said despite the mishap Friday, the air display to mark Nigeria’s 58th Independence anniversary celebrations will still take place.

Two Nigerian Air Force (NAF) F-7Ni aircraft taking part in the rehearsals for the aerial display to mark Nigeria’s 58th independence anniversary crashed on Friday, killing one personnel while two others sustained injuries.

President Muhammadu Buhari had earlier condoled with the family of the deceased and the officers and men of the Air Force, saying the country would never forget their sacrifice.
