Barely a month after an activist website called Care2 launched a campaign to have Chris Brown dropped from his label, RCA Records, the petition has garnered more than 49, 000 signatures.
“Brown’s dangerous history of violence against women has gone ignored for far too long. Brown is a threat to women and needs to be held accountable for his actions,” the petition says. “Tell RCA Records to stop supporting a domestic abuser and drop Chris Brown immediately.“
The petition reportedly was created right after the photos of the singer grabbing a woman’s neck at his house party surfaced. His lawyer Mike Geragos dismissed it as ‘playful’ display, but many people do not believe and this is because of Brown’s domestic violence history. Hence the petition.
Now, it has drawn more than 45, 000 signatures. And while the singer’s team battle with this, a woman has filed a lawsuit alleging that she was raped multiple time by an associate of Chris Brown in Chris Brown’s home.
