An irate mob on Tuesday set a commercial bus conductor ablaze after he allegedly killed one of his passengers at the Five Star Bus Stop near Aswani Market, Isolo, Lagos.
The conductor and the passenger had a misunderstanding over a change of N100 before all hell broke loose, WuzupNaija writes.
It is understood that the bus was heading to Aswani market area, and the passenger opted to alight at the junction before the market and demanded his N100 change.
The conductor, however, refused to hand over the change and in the ensuing argument, he grabbed a knife from a Hausa man selling his wares by the roadside and stabbed the passenger, who died immediately.
Passers-by then attacked the conductor, beat him to stupor before setting him on fire. The mob also burnt the vehicle, but not before the driver of the bus fled from the scene.
In the aftermath of the incident, the mob also attacked other commercial buses plying the route and destroyed at least three vehicles.
