Shortly after the video of Bishop Charles H. Ellis III groping Ariana Grande at Aretha Franklin”s funeral surfaced, actor Mike Colter thought it was wise to joke about the harassment.
“Now THIS is how you shoot your shot! Zero F***!’ said 42-year-old Colter who stars in Netflix series, Luke Cage. He has since deleted the post which reportedly was complete with laughing emojis, according to Deadline.
Colter caught a lot of flak for that comment, and yesterday, he returned to Twitter to post his apology in which he claimed that his comment was meant to be perceived as “biting sarcasm,” multiple outlets reported. He has also deleted the apology.
“Hello all. I apologize about my tweet earlier,” he wrote, according to People. “In no way do I condone any such behavior. It was intended to point out the absurdity of the act itself. Complete and biting sarcasm. I realized quickly that it was not taken as such.”
And explaining why he took forever to apologise, he reportedly said, “I was at an event all day. Sorry for the delay.”
