Meet the Members of Nigeria’s First-Ever Mens’ Bobsled Team

Early this year, the trio of Seun Adigun, Akuoma Omeoga and Ngozi Onwumere became the first Olympic bobsled team in history to represent an African nation at the Winter Olympics.

While the trio didn’t bring home the gold from the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, they encourage other African sportspeople to break new records. They inspired Simidele Adeagbo to break a barrier of her own, becoming the first skeleton racer to represent Nigeria at the Olympics.

“Growing up as a little kid, you always look for people who either represent you in some sort of fashion,” Omeoga told HuffPost. “Whether that be the clothes they wear, whether that be the way that they talk, anything like that so to see that we could be that… that aha moment for certain people, that’s absolutely amazing to me.”

Now, the team has taken to their official Instagram to reveal the trio of who make up the team of Nigeria’s first ever men’s bobsled team.
