Maraji is catching a lot of flak after her religious bigotry found its way to the internet, triggering a heated reaction from Nigerians.
Posting on her Instagram Stories, the comedian whose real name is Gloria Oloruntobi asserted her belief in Jesus and quoted a verse from her bible which said that the Christian God is the ‘only way’ to heaven. And when a fan confronted her in the DMS, she doubled down on her statement.
“Our salvation is based on the fact that Jesus came to take the sin of the world and died in our stead, not Muhammad not Alla, but Jesus. He is the only way,” she wrote.

This quickly stirred a heated reaction from fans and critics, with many noting how insensitive it for the comedian to post such at a time when Muslims are celebrating Eid al-Adha.

On Maraji: it is not what she said but when she said it – to post that on a Muslim feast day is insensitive. Wisdom is profitable to direct. Same energy I feel when ppl pick Christmas Day/Easter to remind me of their beliefs that I'm of a wrong faith.

While @Maraji_ is entitled to her belief that all religions other than Christianity are false, she’s insensitive to her fans in that regard. We all believe our religion is THE answer, but there’s wisdom in knowing how to deal with a diverse society, especially as a public figure.

The only fault I see in the Maraji post is tagging other religion. aside that, please allow her preach the gospel the way she want to

However, some folks have noted that the comedian has only regurgiatetd the religious bias we normalise daily in our worship places and homes.
Most Christians believe other religions are wrong and their adherents will burn in hell.
Most Muslims believe other religions are wrong and their adherents will burn in hell.
Same with Hindus, Sikhs, Judaists etc. It is the nature of Religion. Maraji didn't say anything new

I've relocated several times and attended many churches & Christian schools. They all say Muslims worship false gods.
I've also read Muslim literature just for the fun of it. They also say Christians worship false gods.
Let's stop pretending to be shocked at what Maraji said.
