Manchester City have reportedly won the race for the signature of young Nigerian goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu.
Bazunu, 16, is regarded as one of the brightest young goalkeepers in the world at the moment, and he’s will sign a pre-contract with the Premier League champions after agreeing terms with his club, Shamrock Rovers.
The youngster had been linked with moves to Liverpool, Celtic, Norwich City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur before agreeing terms with City.
His transfer to the Etihad Stadium outfit will be completed in January after he must have completed his studies in Ireland.
The shot-stopper kept four clean sheets in his first four matches for Shamrock Rovers in the League of Ireland and was in between the sticks when they faced AIK Solna in the first qualifying round of the Europa League last month.
The Etihad outfit will pay Shamrock Rovers an initial €350,000 for his signature.
He joins Tosin Adarabioyo, the Nmecha and Dele-Bashiru brothers, Chidiebere Nwakali, Nathanael Ogbeta, Osazee Aghatise and Timi Sobowale as the Nigerian starlets on the books of Manchester City.
