Veteran Nigerian singer, Majekodunmi Fasheke, better known as Majek Fashek, is alive and currently receiving treatment at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in England, his manager, Uzoma Omenka has confirmed.
Mr. Uzoma Omenka gave an update on the state of his health via a video post shared on the official Instagram page of the “send down the rain” crooner.
Omenka urged well-wishers not to believe the false reports that he is dead adding that he is gradually responding to treatment and also sends his greetings.
The manager also thanked and urged all to keep praying for him adding that more donations will be welcome at this point in time.
He said: “Majek Fashek is Alive pls share this video all fans well-wishers and Jah people pls let’s continue praying for him and stop listening to people doing propaganda and scandals …
“He is improving gradually, responding to treatments, greetings from the legendary Majek Fashek”.

Born in Benin City to an Edo mother and a Yoruba father, Fashek burst to stardom in the Nigerian reggae scene in the 1980s and early 1990s with hits including Send Down the Rain, Holy Spirit and African Unity.
In 2015, it was revealed that Majek was bankrupt and battling drug addiction. He was admitted into a drug rehabilitation centre in Abuja.
