Liam Neeson’s New Movie Flops at the Box Office After His Racist Comment

THR is reporting that Liam Neeson’s latest effort, “Cold Pursuit,” raked in a measly $10.8 million domestically over the Feb. 8-10 weekend, his worst ever since post-Taken era.

“Neeson’s sliding scale at the box office of late would certainly point to his action star status dimming,” says box office analyst Jeff Bock of Exhibitor Relations. “That said, it hardly seems like he’s trying with the vehicles he’s picked at Lionsgate. Old action heroes never die…they just make sequels. Taken 4 anyone?”

And this comes days after he revealed that he once considered killing a random black person. Although he subsequently tried to explain why he isn’t racist, folks didn’t buy it, hence prompting Lionsgate to scrub the red carpet portion of Cold Pursuit‘s premiere in New York City.

Now, his film is flopping and this has many people worried: has his career taken a hit?

Anyway, he will be back in the theaters this summer with Men in Black International, and we can’t wait to see how this pans out.
