Kim Kardashian and President Trump finally met yesterday at the White House to discuss prison reform, and particularly the case of Ms. Alice Marie Johnson who had served more than 20 years in prison for a low-level drug offence.
The news of the meeting was first reported yesterday and it stirred mixed reactions on social media, with many people from the black community upset that Kim had been called to speak to a system that continues to imprison mostly black men.
It is worthy to note that Meek Mill had been scheduled to meet with the president over same subject, but he pulled out on grounds that his meeting with Trump would overshadow the purpose.
Well, Kim has met the president, and has now taken to her Twitter to share the outcome.
See her tweets below.
I would like to thank President Trump for his time this afternoon. It is our hope that the President will grant clemency to Ms. Alice Marie Johnson who is serving a life sentence for a first-time, non-violent drug offense.

We are optimistic about Ms. Johnson’s future and hopeful that she —and so many like her—will get a second chance at life.
