The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has criticised the National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress APC, John Odigie-Oyegun for referring to it as ‘Dead’.
In a recent visit to the state to receive defectors from other parties, Oyegun had declared that the massive and high profile officers that crossed to the ruling APC in Katsina signifies the death of PDP and other parties in the state.
The Edo State-born politician noted that the massive influx was as a result of acceptance of the efforts of the APC led government of Buhari.
However, the state PDP chairman Salisu Majigiri in a chat with newsmen in Katsina said Oyegun’s assertion is far from the truth noting that PDP in Katsina is strong and virile.
Majigiri added that what oyegun saw was a rented crowd of persons paid from Zamfara and other neighbouring states noting that the crowd was just an illusion that cannot hold waters in reality.
“How can a state that produced a president from the PDP be said to be dead, this is untrue and cannot be accepted” he said.
To buttress his point, Majigiri referred Oyegun to the performance of the PDP in the recent bye election result which the party has challenged.
