Truckloads of soldiers and policemen could be seen at the National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress in preparation for the National Executive Committee meeting of the party.
Punch reports that the combined team of army and policemen had taken over security at the APC Secretariat on Blantyre Street as early as 6:00 am.
The security operatives have set up checkpoints at the entrance and exit of the building even as many others keep watch within the premises.
Those expected at the crucial NEC meeting are President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and the 24 governors of the ruling party.
President Buhari had earlier enjoined party members to begin working towards the 2019 general elections amid growing discontent within the polity.
