In continuation of political fireworks in Edo State, the deputy speaker of the House of Assembly, Yekini Idiaye has been impeached.
His impeachment by the state lawmakers comes days after he declared support for Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ize-Iyamu is going up against incumbent Governor Godwin Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the September 19 gubernatorial election.
Idiaye is the lawmaker representing Akoko-Edo Constituency I in the assembly, and was one of the state lawmakers accused of accepting a N40m bribe by the erstwhile national chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
