Jennifer Lopez and Shakira reportedly will perform at the 2020 Super Bowl Halftime Show.
The singers shared the news Thursday on Twitter, with the NFL confirming the news shortly after.
“It doesn’t get any bigger than this! So excited about getting on that #SuperBowlLIV #PepsiHalftime stage!” Shakira also shared on Twitter.
THR adds that the annual NFL championship game will be played at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium on Feb. 2. Lopez and Shakira’s performance would follow a string of high-profile pop artists in recent years, including Maroon 5, Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and more.
And confirming this in a statement, Pepsi VP marketing Todd Kaplan said: “Throughout the years, Pepsi has had a strong heritage in music, working with a range of artists from Britney Spears to Ray Charles to Beyoncé. The Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show has become one of the most iconic and anticipated music performances of the year, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome Jennifer Lopez and Shakira to the stage. These two remarkable artists are setting a new precedent for what this show can become, and we’re confident that this will be an incredible performance for the ages.”
Pepsi senior vp sports, media and entertainment Adam Harter added: “We’ve been working closely behind-the-scenes with our long-standing partners at the NFL, and now alongside Roc Nation to bring these mega superstars together. It is a testament to our partnership and commitment to push the envelope of what is possible.”
