Former White House intern, Monica Lewinsky, has revealed what triggered her affair with former US president, Bill Clinton.
Lewinsky shared the details in an upcoming docu-series, titled, “The Clinton Affair,” where she talked about her time in the White House.
According to her, it was her exposed underwear that got the president’s attention back in 1995, reports AOL.com
She said that, during a birthday party for a White House staffer, where Clinton was present, Lewinsky said she noticed that her underwear was unintentionally showing from behind but she decided to leave it be.
“Instead of pulling my trousers up, like I would in any other instance, I didn’t,” she recalled. “It was unnoticeable to everybody else in the room, but [Clinton] noticed.”
“As I passed George Stephanopoulos’ office, I kind of looked into the open doorway, and Bill happened to be standing there,” she went on. “And he motioned me in — I don’t think my heart had ever beat that fast. Unbeknownst to me, I was on the precipice of the rabbit hole.”
Lewinsky and Clinton indulged in an affair between 1995 and 1997 – and it became a major political scandal in 1998.
