‘If you know, you know’ – Nnamdi Kanu defends Owerri jailbreak
Bare hours after over 1,500 inmates escaped from a correctional facility in Owerri, Imo State capital, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu has risen in defence of the action.
The jailbreak occurred after yet to be identified gunmen invaded the prison and blew up the facility in the wee hours of Monday.
They also razed the Imo Police Headquarters with vehicles parked in the premises.
Reacting, Kanu said on his verified Twitter account that no soul deserves to be locked up in Nigeria’s prison.
According to him, if insurgents such as Boko Haram and killer herdsmen that were arrested and freed can still roam freely in the country, then nobody deserves to languish in custody.
He tweeted “If Miyetti Allah terror herdsmen & other murderous #Fulani groups, including Boko Haram insurgents, can be arrested, freed and rehabilitated by this neo-colonial Fulanised @NGRPresident, then no single soul deserves to be in any prison in Nigeria. If you know you know! #UGM.”
