It has been years since Foluke Daramola walked away from her first marriage to Babatunde Sobowale, but the actress still remembers the horror she endured, how she was reduced to a ‘shadow’ of herself.
Recall that in a 2014 interview with YES! magazine, the actress admitted that she ‘rushed’ into the marriage to Sobowale because her peers were all getting marriage. Sadly, that turned out to be a nightmare.
And she is speaking about her experiences again in new chat with PUNCH, and this time she chalked down her first attempt to one of the most ‘turbulent’ phases she had endured.
“Another turbulent time for me was when I had to leave my first marriage. I would say I left the marriage as a shadow of myself,” said the Nollywood star who is now married to Kayode Salako,, adding, “When I left that marriage, I felt less than myself and I felt the world had come to an end. That was a time in my life that was very turbulent.”
She continued, “What I dread most in my life is to have a broken home and I experienced it with my first marriage. So I would say that was a time in my life that was really turbulent. But a very lovely and good time in my life was when I met the man I am married to. It was a wonderful time in my life.”
Now, she is happier and waxing stronger.
