The city of Ile-Ife in Osun State is alive with activities as the Ooni, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, received his new Olori, Moronke Naomi Silekunola Ogunwusi (now the new Yeyeluwa Oodua), at the palace.
This comes hours after the monarch took to his Instagram to describe the Olori as the one he had waited for and who he believes carries the “fear of God” in her.
Understandably, some Nigerians have shared concerns about the mix faiths, especially because the monarch is the guardian of the Yoruba culture, hence why there are fears that her different religious beliefs may blur over his own.
However, the Ooni has never been one to segregate against people based on their religions. He famously worshipped in a church, a mosque, while also protecting the Yoruba traditions.
And with his marriage to the Christian prophetess, some fans believe it will encourage more tolerance in a society heavily divided along religious and ethnic lines.

Congratulations to them!
