Firdausa Al Jannah Amasa, the lady who rose to fame after she was denied call to the Bar by the Nigerian Law School in December, 2017 over her insistence on wearing the Hijab, has now been inducted as a lawyer.
Firdausa, a devout Muslim finally got called to Bar yesterday and was listed last of the 788 new wigs for the morning session of the programme.
She was among the 12 other lawyers included from last examination of the Nigerian Law School, which had a total of 1, 550 candidates called to the Bar.
It is understood that the decision to call her followed the out of court settlement reached between the school and her family on the issue after the initial acrimony generated.
She expressed appreciation to the Law School and the nation’s judiciary for giving her the opportunity to become a lawyer, and prayed Allah to bless those that contributed to making the event a success.
