Videos have emerged on social media showing how operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) were resisted when they invaded the home of the immediate past governor of Lagos State Akinwunmi Ambode.
The anti-graft agency in a statement has said it didn’t raid the house but only visited as part of its investigations into the administration of the ex-governor.
In the footages shared on social media, residents of the area were seen as they trooped out to protest against the activities of the anti-graft agency at Ambode’s house.
A Twitter user @drabeey shared a video of the moment the operatives laid siege on the former governor’s residence while residents gathered on the street waiting.
The residents said the men who arrived the country home of Ambode at the early hours of Tuesday were not in EFCC uniform nor with anything they could easily be identified with.
The operatives – in two unmarked vehicles, a white bus and a pickup van – are seen shooting sporadically into the air as they drove off after residents had broken the glass of one of their vehicles.
