Emma Watson Donates $1.4 Million to Anti-Sexual Harassment Campaign

Emma Watson reportedly has donated a whopping $1.4 million to a U.K.-based organisation, the Justice and Equality Fund, as her contribution to the fight against sexual harassment, assault and discrimination.

According to E! News, the Harry Porter actress joined the likes of Keira Knightley and Emma Thompson to support the organisation which was inspired by the #TimesUp ad #MeToo movements.

“The fund aims to drive personal, social, legal and policy changes that will ensure everyone can feel safe at work, at play and at home,” said the report, and as at press time, the organisation had raised more than £1.5 million.

E! News adds that some 200 stars signed the open letter published in The Observer asking women to join forces with them against abuse and harassment in the U.K., and some of them include Saoirse Ronan, Carey Mulligan, Naomie Harris and Noma Dumezweni.

“This movement is bigger than just a change in our industry alone,” the letter continued, adding, “This movement is intersectional, with conversations across race, class, community, ability and work environment, to talk about the imbalance of power.”

More power to them!
