The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) took Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital by storm as they campaigned ahead of next Saturday’s governorship election.
There was a hubbub of activities as traders were seen locking their shops to attend the rally which had thousands in attendance.
The PDP used the occasion to market its governorship candidate and deputy governor of the state, Prof. Olusola Kolapo, as well as its 2019 presidential aspirants who all spoke at the event.
addressing the crowd at the event, the National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, couldn’t resist a swipe at the All Progressives Congress, saying: “You know those behind the killings in the country, if you vote for APC, you are voting for killers and herdsmen to take your lands.”
Notable personalities at the rally included serving and former governors, senators, NWC members, former principal members of the National Assembly and 2019 presidential aspirants on the platform of the PDP.
The rally comes a day after the PDP warned that the 2019 general elections may not hold following suspicion of foul play by the APC.
