Nigerian writer Dike Chukwmerije recently had a close shave with death as he narrates how he was almost struck by a stray bullet.
The award-winning author and performance poetry artist said his car was parked in front of his house and he was standing beside it when something fell out of the sky and hit the windscreen.
Dike, the son of the late senator Uche Chukwkumerije, shared photos of the stray bullet and his shattered windscreen in a Facebook post.
“Today, my car was struck by a stray bullet. It was parked in front of my house, and I was standing beside it, when something fell out of the sky and punched a hole through the windscreen,” he wrote.
“At first, I thought someone had thrown a stone or something over the fence. But what I found on my bonnet, amidst the shattered glass, was a spent bullet.
“Is this how it happens?
