At least eleven persons have been confirmed dead after a heavily-loaded Dangote Cement trailer truck lost control and rammed into a vehicle along Nasarawa Eggon-Akwanga road on Monday.
Eyewitnesses report that all the 11 passengers in the vehicle, including the driver, were killed in the incident
Scores of others reportedly sustained various degrees of injuries along Nasarawa Eggon-Akwanga road.
According to the sources who spoke to Punch, other vehicles also ran into the accident scene, which caused some of their passengers to sustain injuries.
The accident happened on a hill popularly called, “Many have gone.”
It is understood that the Federal Road Safety Corps, Army and the police have been assisting in the rescue operation.
The Nasarawa State Sector Commander of the FRSC, Mr. Ismaila Kugu, confirmed the accident on Monday in Akwanga Local Government Area of the state.
