Bloomberg Billionaires Index is reporting that Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote has now climbed to the number 65th position of the list of 500 of the world’s billionaires, with a $16.6bn fortune.
According to the business site, Dangote, who owns sub-Saharan Africa’s biggest cement producer, Dangote Cement, rose to this new height after gaining $6.08B, a significant +57.9% rise when compared to his previous index.
Jeff Bezos continues to lead the list with $136bn, while Barry Lam sits on the 500th spot with $3.86bn.
Also, the three other Africans who made the list are South Africans, and they include Nicky Oppenheimer, with a net worth of $7.05bn; Johann Rupert with $6.84bn, and Natie Kirsh with $6.09bn.
