This comes barely a week after Nike declared that they are Team Colin Kaepernick, sending Racist Twitter on absolute meltdown. In the new Nike ad, the former NFL quarterback is looking at the camera, and printed over the image is: “Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything. #JustDoIt.”
Kaepernick started a necessary conversation in the United States after his refusal to stand for the national anthem in protest of police brutality and racial injustices against the people of colour. President Trump condemned him on several occasions on his Twitter, and when the new season of football started, the former 49ers quarterback was not re-hired.
However, he has since gone on to become a national icon.
And now, he has sold out his jerseys and fans are hoping Nike will restock.
