Premier League giants Chelsea have rejected an opening offer from Real Madrid for star player Eden Hazard.
The reigning European champions have reportedly bid €100m plus bonuses for the Belgium captain this week.
However, the proposal was rejected out of hand by Chelsea who are said to be reluctant to sell, but will seriously listen to offers beginning at €150m.
Real, meanwhile, have made a contract offer to Hazard’s camp worth €15m-a-year net, believing they can seal a deal for €135m.
In a related development, Barcelona have made a bid to the West London club to offer Ousmane Dembele plus cash for Hazard.
Don Balon reports that it was club talisman Lionel Messi who asked for the trade to be made.
Spanish radio station Onda Cero have claimed that the Catalan giants are willing to offer Dembele for Hazard plus a big cash fee. And Messi, who is on holiday in Ibiza, has given his blessing to the idea.
The station adds that majority of the Barcelona squad are in favour of selling the French World Cup winner, who has failed to establish himself at the Nou Camp after his massive switch from Borussia Dortmund last summer.
