Charlamagne tha God has denied claims that he ever raped his wife.
The recent drama started after Madame Noire published a 2001 clip from Charlamagne’s podcast in which the radio host admitted to having “sex” with his wife when she was inebriated.
“I keep telling’ y’all. I’ve told y’all this over and over. It’s a lot of things guys did especially when we were young that were rape that we just didn’t consider rape,” he said in the tape, “I’m married to my wife. Me and my wife dated for a whole year, she would not give me no pussy. Me and my wife hung out one Saturday night and she got sloppy drunk and passed out in my momma’s house and I got that pussy. She was fucking me back and all that but she was really drunk. I asked her yesterday, ‘Yo, did I rape you the first time we ever had sex?’ And she goes, ‘I mean in hindsight, yeah…’”
The tape stirred heated reaction about consent and intent. But Charlamagne has attempted to clear the air yet again during a sit-down with his crew at The Breakfast Club.
He claims that the excerpt of what his wife said as published by Madame Noire was incomplete. According to him, the rest of the quote goes something like this: “She told me ‘yeah I can see how people say that, but that’s not what happened with us.’”
And to make a point, he called his wife Jessica to get her perspective on the situation, and she stood up for him, saying that the incident was not only consensual, but that she was completely coherent during their first time, and also mentions that she consented to sex the next morning.
“Did I rape you the first time we had sex with each other?” he asked.
“That’s not what happened, we both know what happened and I was not passed out. I was very coherent, like enough for me to lift off my hips so you could take my panties off,” she replied.
This comes a day after he addressed the 2015 tape surfaced in which he admitted to drugging a woman with Spanish Fly and having ‘sex’ with her. However, the radio host failed to address the case of Jessica Reid who accused him of raping her when she was only 15 years old. Read her story here.
