Following the threats on Cardi B’s life by a Los Angeles gang called Crips which she dissed on her Instagram, the clubs that invited her to perform at their events have now hired armed security.
Recall that drama started days ago when the Bodak Yellow rapper went on Instagram to post a photo of herself rocking a blue fur jacket with a shady caption that said, “I hate wearing Flue but this coat was too poppin.”
The word “flue” apparently is a way to diss the Crips favourite colour without using the actual word. Plus, Cardi, herself, had often announced that she belongs to a gang called the Blood.
And so, when she dissed the Crips, the members hopped on her post, threatening and warning her never to set foot in L.A. She is scheduled to visit the city next weekend for the NBA All-Star festivities.
Now, TMZ reports that the three nightclubs she is scheduled to perform in have hired armed security for the rapper, to stall any gang violence that weekend.
“We’re told the clubs — Murano, Penthouse and Ace of Diamonds — are tripling the number of armed security guards they’d normally hire. They’ve also put off-duty cops on the payroll, who’ll be in uniform at the clubs,” the blog said, adding, “Our sources say club management held an emergency meeting Wednesday to discuss how to handle the crisis. Canceling was never an option — we’re told Cardi’s getting around $250k for the Friday, Saturday and Sunday night gigs, and her team hasn’t made a peep about pulling out.”
Hopefully, the threats are simply word of mouth. #PrayersUp for Cardi!
