Cardi B and her fiancé Offset have been sued by a man who claims they instructed three men to “savage[ly] assault” him after he asked for them for an autograph at the just-concluded Met Gala.
According to TMZ, the incident allegedly occurred as Cardi and Offset were leaving the Met Gala afterparty on May 8, and the man, Giovanni Arnold, approached them, requesting for autographs several times. Cardi allegedly told him to, “Fuck outta here, nigga. I will slap the shit out of you,” and Offset reportedly added, “Shut up, bro, before a nigga beat you out here.”
Shortly after that alleged incident, according to the suit, three unidentified men “savagely beat [Giovanni Arnold], punching him and then stomping on his face while he was on the ground,” before they fled the scene.
And it is why he has dragged the couple to court.
In his suit, he alleges “assault, battery, [and] intentional infliction of emotional distress,” and seeks unspecified damages. Arnold also named New York City’s Mark Hotel (the alleged afterparty location) in the lawsuit.
The rappers had yet to react to the lawsuit as at press time.
