Burna Boy Drags Rapper AKA Amid Xenophobic Attacks in South Africa

Burna Boy has taken to his Twitter to speak out against the killings of African nationals, especially Nigerians, currently going on in South Africa.

The African Giant spoke out after rapper Ycee called out AKA for his previous inciting remarks that he believed stirred more distrust between South Africans and Nigerians.

Ycee backed up his tweets with a screenshot of AKA’s disturbing comments, in which the South African rapper moaned about having to frequently lose to Nigerians during competitions. His passionate comments stirred heated reactions, with AKA rising to defend himself, saying that his tantrum was merely about a healthy sibling rivalry, never meant to stirred distrust or conflict among the two nations.

But Burna insists that AKA’s comments have implications, especially as the relationship between Nigeria and South Africa worsens, with South African men murdering Nigerians, in South Africa and destroying of their properties.

“Ordinarily at a time like this, I should come here and say something to try and calm the situation because my Dream has always been to Unite AFRICA and make us realise that Together we will Literally rule the world. But today after watching the killing of my people in South Africa the same way we have all watched it happen a few times in the past. FUCK ALL THAT!” Burna tweeted.

Adding, “I personally have had my own xenophobic experiences at the hands of South Africans and because of that I have not set foot in SA since 2017. And I will NOT EVER go to South Africa again for any reason until the SOUTH AFRICAN government wakes the fuck up and really performs A miracle because I don’t know how they can even possibly fix this.”

He further called out MI Abaga who defended AKA, saying, “And MI Abaga, it’s fuck AKA from now on. And if you down with him, it’s fuck you too. I respect you too much, please Don’t throw my respect out the window cuz I swear you will fly out with it.”

Burna also encouraged Nigerians in South Africa to defend themselves. “I am not encouraging any Violence or anything but please PLEASE Protect and Defend yourselves at all times, it may not seem like it but there’s always a way.”
